An NFL career is in the future for Arch Manning.

But first comes the 2025 season as the starting quarterback for the Texas Longhorns. And depending who you ask, it might not be his only one.

In a recent story from Texas Monthly, Archie Manning shot down notions that his grandson will be taking his talents to the pro level in 2026.

“Arch isn’t going to do that. He’ll be at Texas,” the 14-year NFL veteran said, while also admitting he hasn’t had the conversation with Arch directly.

The son of Cooper Manning and the nephew of Super Bowl-winning QBs Peyton and Eli Manning passed for 939 yards and nine touchdowns last season with the Longhorns in limited playing time behind Quinn Ewers.

Now, with Ewers wearing a Miami Dolphins uniform, Arch Manning has the reins and the lofty expectations that come with leading the preseason No. 1 team in the nation.

“People are saying he’s a Heisman candidate,” Archie Manning said. “You’re not a Heisman Trophy candidate when you haven’t played but three games. It’s crazy.”

The Longhorns will face an immediate test this season against Ohio State, the team that defeated Texas in a CFP semifinal seven months ago.

A season-opening win in Columbus would only add to Arch Manning’s preseason hype.
