Former Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe, drafted by the Seahawks as the No. 92 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, is set to make his preseason debut in the Thursday night matchup against the Raiders. According to Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune, Milroe will split time with Drew Lock.

Seahawks beat reporter Brian Nemhauser, who has closely followed Milroe since his arrival in Seattle, notes that Milroe has shown significant progress during training camp.

On Wednesday’s episode 363 of RealHakwTak, Nemhauser, along with co-hosts Jeff Simmons and Nathan Ernst, discussed Milroe’s potential future with the Seahawks.

“The buzz on him [Milroe] is starting to take up all of camp, and now if you can see him get going, the momentum with him is going to be crazy,” said Simmons.

Nemhauser is optimistic about the Seahawks’ future, citing a new offensive strategy and a roster of talented young offensive players, including Milroe.

“I find myself kind of future-tripping about this offense. I find myself thinking about Jalen Milroe, Elijah Arroyo, A.J. Barner, JSN [Jaxon Smith-Njigba], Tory Horton Jr, [Zach] Charbonnet, Canine [Kenneth Walker III], and Damien Martinez, and then a very young offensive line that they bring. In a couple of years, it’s gonna be a really, really good offense,” said Nemhauser.

Currently listed as the third-string quarterback on the team’s website, Milroe could see some opportunities with further development and time behind starter Sam Darnold. As of now, catch him in action at Lumen Field against the Raiders; the game is scheduled for 9 p.m. CST and streaming on Fubo, NFL+, Sling TV, and YouTube TV.
