YORK, Pa. —

As the high school football season approaches, excitement is building in the York-Adams League, particularly for the West York Bulldogs, eager to continue their success from last year.

In 2021, West York finished 0-10, followed by a 2-8 season, and another 0-10 finish.

However, 2024 was different, as head coach Ron Miller said the Bulldogs’ success came out of nowhere with a nine-win season, including six straight victories to open last year.

All of those wins led to the program’s first playoff berth since 2014, and while the Bulldogs dropped their game against Wyomissing, the team learned valuable lessons they plan to bring into this year.

“That game set the bar for us. Now, we know what it looks like, we felt what it feels like, the speed, the intensity, how strong they were and from the minute that game ended, we’ve gone to work to get back there again. It has probably been the best offseason that I’ve had, even back to my first stint here, which had unbelievably talented and hard-working guys. But this group, there is something I feel differently about this group. I’m excited for them, ” Miller said.

The Bulldogs hope to continue the success from last year, and it all begins in two weeks.

West York will open their season on the road at ELCO on Aug. 22.
