Tony Alexander Leads a New Era for Dooly County Bobcats Football

  • August 13, 2025

VIENNA, Ga. (WALB) – Tony Alexander is no stranger to South Georgia football, especially when it comes to teams along 75. A Crisp County graduate, Dooly seemed like the perfect place to start his head coaching career.

“I always knew about the rich tradition and the rich history that happened in Dooly County. It’s a team that we always played against growing up and this was always a job that I had circled and always wanted so when it became available, I look at it as my dream job. Rich tradition, great players great athletes, great community and it’s great to be a Dooly County Bobcat,” said Alexander.

Alexander was introduced to the world coaching while at Georgia Southern where he worked as a student recruiting assistant. From there he coached at his alma mater before spending the past season at Northside Warner Robins.

Never too far from Vienna, coach is taking everything he learned at his stops to get the Bobcats back to the fundaments and intangibles that allowed them to make back to back third round appearances before going 0-10 last season.

“Putting in work in the weightroom. Being disciplined in our technique and really honing in on the ins and outs of the game. Getting the small wins and eventually leading them to big victories.”

Alexander has hit the ground running creating a new culture for his guys through the acronym P.A.W.

“By us being the Bobcats PAW was just natural. The P stands for passion, the A stands for attitude, and the W stands for work and that’s what we’re going to live by. That’s what the culture is.”

The Bobcats will spend the first 3 weeks on the road, starting with defending state champs Toombs County.
