The Arizona Cardinals made a pair of roster moves on Tuesday dealing with the wide receiver room. After receiver Trishton Jackson suffered a thumb inury in the team’s 20-17 preseason-opening win over the Kansas City Chiefs, the team placed him on injured reserve.
Replacing him on offseason roster is receiver Kelly Akharaiyi, whom they signed Tuesday.

Akharaiyi is an undrafted rookie who signed originally with the Buffalo Bills in May. He is six feet tall and 201 pounds and played collegiately for Tyler Junior College, UTEP and, in 2024, Mississippi State. Last year at Mississippi State, he had 391 yards and two touchdowns on 25 receptions.
As a back-of-the-roster addition midway through the preseason, it is unlikely he will do enough to earn a spot on the 53-man roster, but perhaps he can earn a spot on someone’s practice squad. If he gets any action in the team’s preseason game on Saturday against the Denver Broncos, it will be late in the second half, but we can see if he can impress at all.
