AUGUSTA (WQOW) – Low in numbers, high in belief.
Augusta Beavers football has a noticeably smaller roster in 2025, but won’t be using it as an excuse.
Augusta football is low in numbers but high in belief this season
Derek Boldt’s squad will feature speed and height at wide receiver. The defense is improved from last year, and the roster is filled with dedicated, vocal players.
“I’ve got a lot of right-hand men I guess you can say when it comes to being positive,” Boldt said. “They want to be better leaders, which I really appreciate, and I’m excited about that opportunity.”
Augusta is young though, with only four seniors and a lot of freshmen, so growing pains are to be expected. Boldt believes the Beavers will have to throw more than they ever have.
The Beavers will host Glenwood City Friday at 11:00 a.m. for a scrimmage, then will host Cadott on August 21 to open the regular season.
