Following training camp practice No. 14 for the Jaguars, here are three key takeaways, including one WR who continues to stand out.

Day No. 14 of Jacksonville Jaguars’ training camp is now in the books. The next time we will see the Jaguars is on Thursday when the team holds another scrimmage.

However, before we look ahead, let’s discuss what happened on Tuesday. While there is always a lot that takes place in these training camp practices, here are three big takeaways from what took place.

Where was Travis Hunter lined up today?

Last week, we saw a lot of Travis Hunter switching back and forth between offense and defense. This week, there hasn’t been much of that yet. On Monday, Hunter was lined up at wide receiver, while on Tuesday, he spent the day at cornerback.

With Tyson Campbell still sidelined, Hunter was lined up on the outside opposite of Jarrian Jones when the Jaguars were in their nickel defense.

According to Jamal St. Cyr of News-4-Jax, Hunter got his hands on the ball twice in coverage. However, on one play, he didn’t get both feet in bounds, while the other was negated by a penalty during a one-on-one.

“He’s doing a good job,” Anthony Campanile said. “He’s progressing every day. Like I said, he’s done a great job with splitting time on offense and defense. So it’s a tough task, but he’s handled it really, really well. Like anything else, there’s things to correct but some things he did really good the other day.”

Hunter will play wide receiver and cornerback in the scrimmage.

WR Parker Washington continues to carve out a role

We know that Brian Thomas Jr., Travis Hunter, and Dyami Brown sit at the top of the Jaguars’ wide receiver depth chart, but Parker Washington is making it very difficult to keep him off the field.

St. Cyr said that Tuesday was “maybe his biggest day of camp,” which is saying something given how well he has performed this summer.

John Shipley of Jaguars on SI wrote in his camp takeaways that Washington caught a deep ball from Trevor Lawrence and won several of his one-on-one matchups. St. Cyr wrote that Parker made both “tough catches” and showcased his ability to get open.

The pass rush has a huge day

By St. Cyr’s count, the Jaguars generated eight sacks over the course of the practice. Getting in on the action were Josh Hines-Allen, Dennis Gardeck, Antonio Johnson, Devin Lloyd, and others. Emmanuel Ogbah also contributed two sacks.

In this Campanile defense, we are going to see more movement up front and a more attacking play-style from the defensive line. There will also be more blitzing, as evidenced by the linebackers and safeties who were able to get to the quarterback today.

Liam Coen mentioned recently that he was happy with the physicality that the defensive line played with during the preseason game, noting that the unit held up against the run as well on Saturday.
