The Houston Texans have found their replacement for Brevin Jordan.
Well, at least through the rest of training camp.
According to the team’s transaction list, Houston signed former Los Angeles Chargers third-round pick Tre’ McKitty. In a corresponding move, the Texans have placed tight end Dalton Keene on the season-ending injured reserve after dealing with an issue at practice earlier this week.

McKitty, a former standout at Georgia under Kirby Smart, played in 34 games for the Chargers between 2021 and 2023, but has not appeared in a regular-season game since his release from the AFC West club in October 2023. Over the past two seasons, McKitty has spent time on practice squads in Buffalo and Cleveland.
For his career, McKitty had collected 16 receptions for 177 yards. He also caught two passes in their playoff loss to the Jaguars after the 2022 season.
Jordan, who was carted off during Monday’s practice with a lower-body injury, was placed on the season-ending injured reserve Tuesday morning.

“It was tough putting Brevin on IR with him going down with a devastating injury,” coach DeMeco Ryans said. “It’s tough on Brevin right now. It’s tough on our entire team, but that’s the game that we play. Injuries happen. We have to continue to press forward.”
The Texans face off against the Carolina Panthers on Saturday at NRG Stadium. They’ll have a joint practice on Thursday morning.
