Cincinnati Bengals guard Cordell Volson is one of the notables potentially on the roster bubble in the coming weeks.
After being benched last year and seeing the Bengals sign Lucas Patrick to start in one guard spot and giving the other to rookie Dylan Fairchild, this camp always looked like a critical one for Volson.
According to CLNS Media’s Mike Petraglia, Volson received some work at center with the second-team offense this week.

The Bengals love their versatility up front, hence guys like Cody Ford being able to back up either tackle spot and on the interior.
Written another way, Volson showing he can adapt and provide a backup presence across multiple spots on the interior, not just one position, could put him ahead of other guys vying for a limited number of roster spots.
Volson re-did his contract with the Bengals this offseason, too, furthering the idea this camp would decide if he sticks for the regular season.
