New Orleans Saints to start rookie Tyler Shough at QB Sunday against Jaguars

All right. Joining me now is receivers coach Keith Williams, coach, the guy that everyone keeps talking about throughout this entire camp is Rashid Shaheed. How big of *** stride has he made since last year? Making huge strides. Uh, he’s come in right where he left off last year in practice and in the games and. He’s taking it serious. He wants to take that next step, so you know, he’s been looking *** part. What has he worked on the most, you think since last year because it looks like he’s *** complete receiver right now, right? Basically being that you wanna, he just wants to widen his, his route tree, uh, be able to run every route with the same effectiveness and, and be as dangerous on intermediate short routes as he is on deep routes. You have Crystallabe now back healthy. After the concussions, I mean how crucial is he gonna be for you guys in that room? He’s gonna be he’s our guy you know he’s he’s he’s who we’re looking at to make *** lot of plays and so um you know all those guys combined are gonna help each other but CO obviously is gonna be *** great uh you know *** big part of that. How important is Chris? To these quarterbacks and what they can do. Um, I mean, he’s very important because he’s ***, you know, he’s he’s on the cusp of being becoming *** really good player, *** great player, and uh. You know, as for young quarterbacks, you, you know, you love to have the most talented guys you can have at wide out and he’s definitely very talented, so he’s gonna be *** big help to the quarterbacks. Speaking of big help, having *** veteran presence like Brandon Cook’s with those two guys, what has he meant to them in the entire room? He’s been great because he, he’s still running around. He’s still *** really good player and um and but he’s been great in the room with those guys. They’ve been asking *** lot of, you know, off the record questions and he’s been giving them great advice and uh you know how to be ***. and how to take that next step in professionalism. So he’s been awesome. My last question to you what’s awesome is the one on one battles between your receivers and the defensive backs. Terry Joseph said nobody talks more trash than you just how much you guys enjoy those battles and you know, just going back and forth. Well, you know, one on ones for White House and DBs are, you know, that’s ***, that’s *** precious time in practice that we take it very seriously. So it’s been awesome. T Joe’s great, great, he’s great, so we’re just having *** lot of. Fun over there you can kind of see the growth from the defensive backfield specifically like Kool-Aid. Oh, Kool-Aid is is taking that next step. He’s, he’s calm. He’s, uh, you know, he’s, he’s, he’s grown. He grew, he’s growing, and you can see it every practice. He and I are really close. We talk *** lot. He comes and asks me, Hey, what are you telling the CEO on that route? Um, I ask him what he was seeing on certain plays that he makes, so yeah, Kool-Aid’s doing great. I appreciate your time, receivers coach Keith Williams for the New Orleans Saints back to you.
