We are nearing the end of the preseason for the Jacksonville Jaguars. The preseason finale will be played on August 23rd, and then roster cutdowns will take place just a few days later.

With three weeks of training camp practices and two preseason games completed, we have a good sample size at this point when it comes to individual performances.

So, with what we know now, following the Jaguars‘ preseason game against New Orleans, let’s put together our latest 53-man roster prediction.

Quarterback (2): Trevor Lawrence, Nick Mullens

I still think keeping two quarterbacks on the 53-man and one on the practice squad makes the most sense from a roster construction standpoint.

Running back (4): Travis Etienne, Tank Bigsby, Bhayshul Tuten, LeQuint Allen

ESPN’s Dan Graziano reported that the Jaguars plan to keep four running backs and use a committee approach this season. We saw the depth of this unit on display against the Saints.

Wide receiver (6): Dyami Brown, Brian Thomas Jr., Parker Washington, Travis Hunter, Josh Cephus, Trenton Irwin

Irwin continues to be a go-to target in preseason games and has special teams experience. Cephus has flashed throughout the summer, so the Jaguars take a swing on further developing him.

Tight end (3): Johnny Mundt, Hunter Long, Brenton Strange

If you’re going to go heavy and keep four running backs, that means going light at another position to make the roster math work out. Practice squad elevations can help the Jaguars bolster the game-day depth at tight end if needed.

Offensive line (10): Walker Little, Ezra Cleveland, Robert Hainsey, Patrick Mekari, Anton Harrison, Chuma Edoga, Fred Johnson, Wyatt Milum, Jonah Monheim, Cole Van Lanen

Perhaps the biggest unknown here is with Van Lanen. We don’t know when he will be recovered from his injury, but I kept him on the roster because the Jaguars seem to like him as their swing tackle option off the bench.

Defensive line (8): Josh Hines-Allen, Travon Walker, Dawuane Smoot, Arik Armstead, Maason Smith, DaVon Hamilton, Emmanuel Ogbah, Khalen Saunders

I went light here. And whether or not Armstead and Smith are ready for Week 1 can dictate what the roster looks like. But for now, we will assume they are. The versatility that the Jaguars have at this position, I think, allows them to go light and roster only eight. Smoot and Walker can line up inside, while Gardeck and McLeod can come down and rush the passer.

Linebacker (6): Devin Lloyd, Foyesade Oluokun, Jalen McLeod, Ventrell Miller, Dennis Gardeck, Jack Kiser

Not included is Chad Muma. On the Jaguars’ unofficial depth chart, one of the backup linebacker roles was listed as Muma or Kiser, who has improved throughout training camp and had a good showing against the Saints.

Cornerback (5): Tyson Campbell, Jourdan Lewis, Jarrian Jones, Montaric Brown, Christian Braswell

With Hunter, the Jaguars have six cornerback options. That final roster spot has been up for grabs, but Braswell seems to have a firm grip on it. He started in practices this past week while Tyson Campbell was out and played well against the Saints.

Safety (6): Eric Murray, Darnell Savage, Antonio Johnson, Caleb Ransaw, Rayuan Lane, Andrew Wingard

Much like linebacker, I’m not sure if the Jaguars keep all six of these players, but I wasn’t sure who to let go of, either. Savage, Johnson, and Wingard are competing for playing time, while Lane can help on teams right away.

Special teams (3): Logan Cooke, Ross Matiscik, Cam Little

There’s no mystery here.
