One of the Arizona Cardinals‘ 2025 opponents with a battle at starting quarterback has made a decision. The Indianapolis Colts, whom the Cardinals face in Week 6 on the road, named their starting quarterback.

It will not be Anthony Richardson, the fourth overall pick in the 2023 draft. It will be Daniel Jones, whom they signed this offseason.

Jones spent five and a half seasons with the New York Giants as their starting quarterback but was benched last season and released. He signed with the Minnesota Vikings to finish the season and then was a free agent, signing a one-year contract with the Colts.

Jones has three career games against the Cardinals. He is 1-2 against them and has been sacked 17 times. He has three touchdown passes, two interceptions and a rushing touchdown against them.

Jones being named the starter doesn’t guarantee that the Cardinals will face him, as injuries or ineffectiveness could potentially lead to Richardson getting the job again.

It will certainly be something to watch in the weeks leading up to the Cardinals’ Week 6 game against the Colts.
