How do you think the Commanders rank in the NFC East by each position group?

Well, the exercise was completed by James Nagle, a brand ambassador for StatHead and Pro Football Reference. Nagle took each position group and ranked them for each NFC East team. Commanders fans, you are going to be surprised, and you won’t be happy. You see, Nagle says the Commanders are not the best at any position group among the NFC East teams.

Nagle breaks it down with the Eagles having the best position group for nine positions, and then the New York Giants having the top group at two positions. Rating the Cowboys and Commanders similarly, Nagle believes neither the Commanders nor the Cowboys are the best team in the NFC East at any position group.

QB Jayden Daniels and Marcus Mariota come in third here, which many will find surprisingly low

RB group comes in dead last, not getting any respect

The WR group comes in dead last, likely due to Noah Brown’s frequent injuries and Terry McLaurin’s lack of practice, which suggests a slow start and potentially a down year.

Philadelphia Eagles

Nagle likes the Eagles very much, rating them as the highest in nine (yes, nine) position groups. Is Jalen Hurts really the best QB, or did he have the best offense around him, as well as the best defense getting him the ball back in good field position?

New York Giants

Nagle posted, “There’s a fair argument to be made that Brian Burns, Abdul Carter & Kayvon Thibodeaux are each better than any of Philly’s edge rushers.”

Dallas Cowboys

Nagle rated Dak Prescott ahead of Jayden Daniels. Then posted, “If Jayden Daniels repeats last year’s success, I’ll move him above Dak Prescott, but we have seen too many quarterbacks take a major step back in year 2.”
