Houston Texans safety Jimmie Ward has been accused in a civil lawsuit of physically and sexually assaulting the mother of his 3-year-old son while under the influence of crystal meth — in the presence of their child, according to Harris County court records.

Ward, 34, was arrested on June 12 on a felony domestic violence charge for allegedly choking Cristy West, with whom he was in a relationship for multiple years, and was arrested again two weeks ago for testing positive for alcohol, a violation of his bond conditions.

Now, in addition to the pending criminal charge, he’s facing a civil suit seeking more than $20 million in damages. West is being represented by Tony Buzbee.

Ward, a Texans captain last season, is accused in the suit of forcing his way into West’s home at around 4:20 a.m. on June 12 and going straight to a bathroom. West alleges Ward was exhibiting “erratic and aggressive” behavior.

“On that night, she suspected he was under the influence of methamphetamines, specifically, crystal meth,” the lawsuit stated.

Ward allegedly threatened to “f–king kill” West multiple times, slapped and choked West, and “dragged her into a bedroom,” per the lawsuit.

Their son woke up, and West cradled him to calm him down. Ward then demanded that West perform oral sex on him, the lawsuit alleges, and she did so out of fear for her life.

When Ward later went looking for West’s phone because he accused her of talking to other men, West ran out of her home with her son while “naked and visibly injured.”

She called 911, and Ward was then arrested.

The lawsuit also alleges Ward “lured West to his Houston townhouse” in a previous incident on April 25 “under the pretense of giving her money for their son’s karate lessons.”

Ward told West she had to go inside his home, then into his bedroom, and then into the closet to get the money. Ward then allegedly grabbed West and demanded oral sex before she “resisted, screamed, and managed to leave” the house.

Ward’s attorney, Steve Jackson, told KPRC 2 that the suit was previously filed in Montgomery County and was dismissed.

“We are aware of the Harris County civil lawsuit that was filed,” Jackson told KPRC 2. “This is the same civil lawsuit that was filed against Mr. Ward by other attorneys who also previously tried and failed in a jury trial to prove that Jimmie was married to Ms. West. It is our intention at this time to focus on the criminal allegations and the upcoming grand jury hearing in hopes of this matter being dismissed.”

Ward reported to Texans training camp but is on the physically unable to perform list (PUP) after having foot surgery during the offseason.

He’s entering his third season with the team after spending nine seasons with the 49ers.
