Recently the Chicago Bears signed backup quarterback Tyson Bagent to a two-year extension. This move solidified one of the best backup quarterbacks in the NFL as a Bear. Obviously a team can only go as far as its starting quarterback, but there is a case to be made that the better a quarterback room is, the better chance a team has to be successful. Caleb Williams is the quarterback with the upside and pressure, but having a veteran in Case Keenum and a very valuable young quarterback, Bagent, who has had success as a starter is extremely beneficial to Caleb. Ben Johnson highly values what this quarterback room is turning into.
Johnson is a big fan of each and every quarterback in Chicago.

Mike Pendleton with Bears Wire provides his thoughts on this quarterback room while including Ben Johnson’s direct comments:
“Williams, Bagent, and veteran Case Keenum all bring something different to the table, and at the most important position for Johnson and the Bears to turn the franchise around and become successful. And the new head coach is a believer. Speaking to the media after Bagent’s contract extension was announced, Johnson, who has been in the NFL since 2012, believes that the quarterbacks room is one of the best he’s ever been around during his time in the league.
“I don’t think you can have enough talent in that room,” Johnson said. “I think we actually have one of the best rooms in the NFL, certainly that I’ve been around in my career, from top to bottom.”
In order for that quarterbacks room to be considered one of the best, they’ll have to produce and bring winning football back to Chicago. It’s a bold claim for Johnson about the current quarterbacks he has on the roster, especially since they haven’t played in a single regular season game together.”

Competition helps breed success and having a quarterback room this diverse will make each and every quarterback in this room better. There are things that Caleb Williams will not see or regnozie that Keenum will be able to point out right away.
Not only has the coaches in Chicago drastically gotten better but also the veteran leadership has improved getting not only just Keenum but multiple time Super Bowl winning guard Joe Thuney who has been around the likes of Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes.
Locking down Bagent is a fantastic move for the Bears for more reasons than he is a good player more specifically because him and Caleb have built a great relationship and both young quarterbacks are growing together. That familiarity and that relationship could lead to success for both quarterbacks.
