The Chicago Bears have started trimming their roster to 53 players ahead of Tuesday’s deadline.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bears have released wide receiver Samori Toure. The former Green Bay Packers wideout was a practice squad mainstay last season. Toure signed a reserve/future deal with Chicago back in January.

Toure, 27, is a former seventh round pick by the Packers back in 2022. He appeared in 22 games with Green Bay, where he totaled 13 receptions for 160 yards and one touchdown from 2022-23. Toure never saw regular-season action with the Bears.
It was always going to be an uphill battle for a Chicago receiver looking to earn a roster spot in a stacked room led by veterans DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, Olamide Zaccheaus and Devin Duvernay, as well as rookie standout Luther Burden III.
Assuming the Bears carry six receivers on their roster (there’s a possibility they only carry five), that final roster spot will likely come down to Tyler Scott, Maurice Alexander, Miles Boykin and undrafted rookie standout Jahdae Walker.
