Veteran backup quarterback Ben DiNucci knew he was facing long odds of making the Falcons‘ 53-man roster when he signed with the team just a week ahead of the final preseason game.

But that probably doesn’t make getting cut any easier. Credit to DiNucci, though, he handled the rough news with a perfect tweet.

DiNucci was among the Falcons’ initial cuts on Saturday after he wasn’t able to beat out Easton Stick for the No. 3 quarterback job behind Michael Penix Jr. and Kirk Cousins. And later that day, DiNucci was at the airport where he settled in for an airport beer.

Apparently, airport beers get even better after a seventh NFL cut.

Well played, Ben.

DiNucci has bounced around since being selected in the seventh round back in 2020. He was waived twice by both the Cowboys and Broncos. Then, short stints with the Bills, Saints and Falcons would make it seven NFL releases for DiNucci.

That’s a lot of post-cut airport beers.
