Indianapolis Colts first-round pick Tyler Warren has been widely praised for his early play at tight end but it probably means a little more coming from Rob Gronkowski, who of the best to ever play the position.

“There’s a player I really like and it’s Tyler Warren,” Gronkowski said on TikTok. “I watched him in the first preseason game and he’s so good at all levels of the field. He kind of reminds me of myself.”

Warren had 40 yards on 3 catches in the first preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens but it was how he did it that impressed the New England Patriot legend.

“He ran my play action over route,” Gronkowski said. “He knew how to get open and away from the linebackers. He knows where to go because it’s a feel route. He ran a Julian Edelman route, going out 5 yards and coming back. I never ran that because I’m too big, too slow. He ran it to perfection. ‘Damn, he’s doing that at that size?'”

Gronkowski did say he didn’t get a chance to watch Warren’s blocking. Warren had three catches for 40 yards in the preseason and did not play on Saturday against Cincinnati Bengals.
