The preseason is over for the Buffalo Bills, and now comes the hard part for Bills General Manager Brandon Beane and the front office.

The NFL 53-man roster deadline is Tuesday at 4 pm. That means the Buffalo Bills must release, trade, or move players to the practice squad to get their active roster down to 53 players.

Here are five players who could not be playing for the Buffalo Bills after the 53-man roster deadline.

AJ Epenesa – Epenesa could be a trade piece for the Buffalo Bills. It is highly unlikely the Bills would cut him because of his salary cap hit, but with a slew of new linemen the Bills drafted, Epenesa could be shipped out for draft picks or an offensive weapon for Josh Allen.

Tyrell Shavers – Shavers has had the best preseason of all the Bills’ wide receivers, but he still has drop trouble, and a lack of special teams plays could lead the Bills to cut him.

Mitchell Trubisky – The Bills have a strong QB room and the current NFL MVP in Josh Allen, so the Bills have to make the pick of who will be better for Allen. Trubisky could get the short end of the stick if the Bills go with Mike White as the backup and keep Shane Buechele for the practice squad. I think if the Bills cut Trubisky, he would have no problem signing with another NFL club.

Damar Hamlin – The Bills are hoping that Cole Bishop becomes the player they envisioned when they drafted him in the 2nd round last year. With Tre White injured, the Bills might opt to keep a player like Darrick Forrest, who can play both positions.

DeWayne Carter – Last year’s 3rd round pick has shown flashes of good play, but nothing that has secured him a roster spot this year. The Bills drafted several linemen this past April, and that could lead to Carter being the odd man out.
