Here in the golden age of Eagles football, it’s easy to forget that the franchise was once the laughing stock of the league, making annual draft mistakes that led to losing season after losing season.
It wasn’t until Jim Murray came along as general manager in 1973 that the Eagles’ fortunes started to turn back in the right direction. Murray died Monday at the age of 87 and the news was announced via a tribute from WIP’s Rob Ellis on X.
