The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa football team swept all four of the Mountain West’s player of the week awards following a season-opening 23-20 victory over Stanford on August 23 at the Clarence T.C. Ching Complex.

Quarterback Micah Alejado won both Offensive Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week honors, safety Kilinahe Mediola-Jensen was Defensive Player of the Week, and placekicker Kansei Matsuzawa earned the Special Teams Player of the Week award.

All three were instrumental in UH’s first victory. Alejado has now won both Offensive Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week honors after both of his starts.
