The ink has barely dried on the Tennessee Titans’ initial 53-man roster, and changes are already being made.
NFL Insider Adam Schefter took to social media to break the news that former Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Shy Tuttle intends to sign a one-year deal with the Titans after he was released on Tuesday.
In what appears to be a cost-saving move, the Panthers released the 29-year-old Tuttle, who was set to enter the final season of his three-year $19.5 million contract in 2025. Initially signed by the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted rookie free agent following the 2019 NFL draft.

Tuttle has carved out a successful six-year NFL career with the Saints and Panthers, and should add some quality depth to the Titans. In his six seasons, Tuttle has recorded 232 tackles, 4.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, one interception, and 22 pass deflections.
This move could be bad news for Timmy Horne, who slid into the final depth spot behind the T’Vondre Sweat as a rotational piece for the Titans’ defensive line.
