The Tennessee Titans have the No. 1 position on the waiver wire, meaning the team has first dibs on claiming any and all players who were waived before NFL rosters were cut down to 53 players on Aug. 26.
Any player cut with fewer than four years of service time is eligible to be waiver claimed, and with the first position on waivers, the Titans can get whoever they want. With serious needs at running back, defensive line, linebacker and defensive back, the Titans could be especially active on the wire.
As the Titans venture into the roster acquisition market, here are 15 players the Titans should consider, either on waivers or in free agency, sorted alphabetically.
CB Jalyn Armour-Davis
Injuries have been a nagging concern for Armour-Davis, but he’s played under defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson before and he’s got championship pedigree not just playing in Baltimore, but dating back to his college days at Alabama.
CB JuJu Brents
Brents is a big, rangy cornerback who fits the Titans’ profile, and was a second-round draft pick back in 2023. Injuries derailed his sophomore season, and the Titans will have to be confident in his health to pick him up. But as far as gambles go, he’s one with particularly high upside.
TE Greg Dulcich
It’s been a few years since Dulcich was a primary receiving target, but he makes sense if the Titans are trying to get deeper and bigger-bodied at tight end. He’s historically been a more viable pass catcher than blocker.
RB Audric Estime
Estime ran for 310 yards and a couple of scores and was active in the passing game as a rookie in Denver last year. The former fifth-round pick probably isn’t a long-term solve at running back, but he’s a definite value add while Tyjae Spears is on IR.
DE/OLB Isaiah Foskey
Things haven’t worked out for Foskey, a former second-round pick, in New Orleans. But the former Notre Dame All-American has elite athletic traits and fits the profile the Titans like as a bigger edge defender.
TE E.J. Jenkins
Big-bodied tight ends who can block haven’t been on the Titans’ radar much this summer, but if the Titans want a 6-foot-7 option to beef up the room, Jenkins makes sense.
DE/OLB Mohamed Kamara
Kamara was a particularly productive college edge defender who got stuck behind a logjam of players in Miami. A fresh start could give him an opportunity, and give the Titans a speedier player off the edge.
DL DeMarvin Leal
Leal can play defensive tackle, defensive end and outside linebacker, and he’s got the big frame the Titans covet. Another former early-round pick, Leal would be an interesting piece to move around and find a home for.
DB Arthur Maulet
Free agent, not waivers: If there’s any tread left here, it’s worth a try. Maulet played some of his best years under Dennard Wilson in New York and Baltimore. Now he gets another try to steady a team that could benefit from a veteran presence.
RB Zack Moss
Free agent, not waivers: Titans fans are well-acquainted with Moss from the way he’s run all over the Titans over the years. Not a bad short-term rental option while Spears heals up.
OLB Julian Okwara
Free agent, not waivers: Okwara isn’t going to be a 10-sack guy any time soon, but he’d add some variety and experience to a Titans rush room that mostly consists of bigger players rather than speedier ones.
DL Zacch Pickens
Pickens hasn’t been dominant or anything, but he’s been pretty darn solid in his time with Chicago. The former third-round pick would improve the defensive front as a rotational piece behind Jeffery Simmons and Sebastian Joseph-Day.
LB Mark Robinson
At the very worst, Robinson is a nice core special teams player to make the coverage teams better. At the most, he fills in as ILB4 and helps the unit play downhill better.
RB Trey Sermon
Free agent, not waivers: Like Moss, Sermon is another experienced running back who can handle himself and help out by filling in for Spears for a short while.
DE/OLB Eric Watts
Watts got a lot of playing time as a rookie in 2024. He might not be a rush specialist, but he’s another guy who fits the Titans’ profile as an edge setter.
