After a few days of difficult roster cuts, the Detroit Lions have established their initial 53-man roster 50-man roster for the 2025 season. While the roster will change throughout the next five months and they’ll continue to add players on their 16-man practice squad, these are the players who stood out enough to avoid getting cut.

The process has seen some surprises here and there. Veteran offensive tackle Dan Skipper was among the more shocking releases. It was a bit unexpected to see wide receiver Jackson Meeks and defensive end Nate Lynn get cut, as well.

Without further ado, here is the Lions’ initial 53-man roster, which is likely to see small changes over the next few days.

Note: the Lions’ 53-man roster is actually down to 50 players. So expect some moves shortly.
