The Kansas City Chiefs made some moves ahead of final cuts, including a trade to bring back veteran defensive lineman Derrick Nnadi. During his Tuesday press conference, head coach Andy Reid addressed his thoughts on Nnadi’s return to the team after a brief stint with the New York Jets.

“Yeah, I think just a good inside player, and you can’t really have enough of those guys. He (Derrick Nnadi) knows the system,” said Reid, “So, getting back in there I think is a positive, and (General Manager) Brett (Veach) we’re always a little heavy on O-line and D-line. I mean that’s normally just to make sure we’ve got those areas filled.”

Nnadi spent his first seven impactful seasons in Kansas City, and he’s very familiar with defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo’s system and has contributed to winning three Super Bowl titles.

Kansas City drafted Nnadi in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He finished the 2024 regular season with 11 combined tackles in 17 games, starting one, and notably secured a sack in the postseason.
