The Las Vegas Raiders just released their official roster for the 2025 season, and unfortunately, former Montana State quarterback Tommy Mellott was waived by the team. While fans in Montana are disappointed, there’s still hope for Mellott in the NFL.

Tommy Mellott is one of the most beloved athletes in Montana State history. When “Touchdown Tommy” was on the field, opposing teams had their work cut out for them.

At times, it seemed like he put the rest of his teammates on his back and carried them to victory. A native of Butte, Mellott became a hometown hero, and even Griz fans couldn’t deny the magic that Tommy created when he lined up behind center.
