The Cleveland Browns signed former New England Patriots offensive lineman Cole Strange to their practice squad on Wednesday, per CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz.

Strange was the Patriots’ 2022 first-round draft pick at No. 29 overall.

The 2024 season saw him bogged down by injuries, as he was rehabbing from a torn patellar tendon suffered at the end of 2023. He appeared in three games last season, making two starts towards the end of the year.

Strange was part of a busy day of cuts for the Patriots on Tuesday. Now, he will get a chance to revive his career with a Browns organization looking to find stability in its own right.

While Strange provided contributions to the Patriots, it’s fair to wonder if the organization reached for the offensive lineman back in 2022. Marcus Jones is the only remaining member of that draft class still on the roster, as the class itself left a lot to be desired in terms of overall production.
