HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Los Angeles Rams will hold their preseason minicamp on Maui next month.
Gov. Josh Green joined the team in Los Angeles Wednesday to announce the Rams’ “MauiCamp” on the Valley Isle June 16-19.
“This team has embraced us, has embraced Hawaii and as was said, this is a historic opportunity for us to support the Rams and the Rams to support Hawaii,” Green said.
The Hawaii Tourism Authority partnered with the team for the minicamp in an effort to promote tourism to Maui.
The Rams plan to host a girls flag football and boys football clinic for students at War Memorial Stadium.
This is the first time the Rams will be back in the state since 2019, when they hosted a preseason game at Aloha Stadium against the Dallas Cowboys.
“How could we get back and without a stadium to play a preseason game, we’ve really worked with HTA and all of our friends in Hawaii to think about what would be a meaningful impact, you know, to bring our team back,” Rams president Kevin Demoff said.
Players will also join Habitat for Humanity to help with the rebuilding of four homes in Lahaina.
The on-field football session on Wednesday, June 18, will be open and free to the public, but tickets are limited.
Maui County residents will have access to an exclusive presale starting Friday at 10 a.m.
