The NFL is all about legacy, and Qadir Ismail is continuing his journey. Last year, he signed an undrafted rookie deal with his father’s old team. This summer, Qadir Ismail initially joined his uncle’s old squad in Las Vegas.
Ismail is still working and landed a new team, joining the New York Giants practice squad.
Ismail, who was signed to the Ravens’ practice squad last August, was placed on injured reserve the following October and missed the remainder of the 2024 NFL season. The son of former Ravens wide receiver Qadry Ismail was invited for a tryout at minicamp after a solid career at Samford. He did well enough to be signed to the 90-man roster at the start of Organized Team Activities.

In late July, the 6-foot-6 Ismail switched from wide receiver to tight end and continued to make plays, earning a spot on the team.
One of Ismail’s strengths is his versatility. He began his college career as a quarterback at Villanova before moving to wide receiver at Samford.
