Howie Roseman and the Eagles have acquired a high-end draft pick out of the Big Ten.

The Eagles are signing former Michigan and San Francisco 49ers cornerback Ambry Thomas to their practice squad, according to a Thursday report from FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz.

Thomas joins the Eagles ahead of his fifth NFL season. Should he be elevated from the practice squad, he could provide depth at cornerback, which was an iffy spot for the Eagles this summer.

Thomas was a 2021 third-round pick by San Francisco after starting all 13 games with three interceptions for Michigan in 2019. Thomas opted out of the COVID-affected 2020 season.

Thomas, after going No. 102 overall, played in 42 regular-season games with 11 starts for the 49ers over three seasons. He had 79 tackles, two interceptions and one forced fumble.

Thomas spent the 2024 season on practice squads with the Indianapolis Colts and the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings released Thomas this week ahead of Tuesday’s 53-man roster deadline.
