After just one year with the Buffalo Bills, former Washington Huskies standout linebacker Edefuan Ulofoshio has been released ahead of the 2025 NFL season.
Ulofoshio, who appeared in four games as a rookie and recorded just six tackles and a pass breakup as a rookie after general manager Brandon Beane selected him in the fifth round of the 2024 draft. He had mainly played on special teams and had been battling for his spot with another former UW star, veteran Shaq Thompson.
In the preseason, Ulofoshio tallied 10 tackles across Buffalo’s three games, but Beane and head coach Sean McDermott have seemingly opted for Thompson’s experience. The former first-round pick has recorded 752 tackles in his career, all with the Carolina Panthers, before the organization chose to part ways with him in the offseason following a pair of season-ending injuries.
Ulofoshio, who is the second member of the Huskies’ historic 2024 draft class to be released after the Washington Commanders parted ways with UW’s other fifth-round pick, safety Dominique Hampton.
Thanks to his athleticism, versatility, and special teams prowess, Hampton should be considered a prime candidate to wind up on a practice squad by the time the season begins. The same can be said for Ulofoshio, but the Cleveland Browns quickly took notice of his talents and signed him to their practice squad on Wednesday.
