Head coach GJ Kinne has revamped expectations in San Marcos. The Bobcats are coming off two straight 8-5 seasons, which both ended with a win in the First Responders Bowl. While questions remain about what is reasonable for a team that lost so much in the offseason, Kinne has an opportunity to prove he can sustain success despite a talent drain.
Eastern Michigan finished 5-7 in 2025, despite beginning the season with a 5-2 record. Head coach Chris Chreighton enters his 12th season at the helm with Michigan State graduate transfer Noah Kim likely taking over at quarterback. Kinne said during Tuesday’s media availability that he expects the Eagles to run the ball and load the box in an attempt to stop the Bobcats’ ground game.
“They got a couple of transfer running backs that they’re really high on,” Kinne said. “We’ve got to come in here and match the physicality and play with our tempo.”
