The Tennessee Titans are still hard at work massaging their roster and practice squad as they prepare to open the regular season against the Denver Broncos.

On Friday, Tennessee made a minor adjustment to its practice squad, adding a couple of players they had released in the aftermath of their waiver claims on Thursday.

The team signed veteran offensive tackle John Ojukwu and defensive tackle Timmy Horne and released running back Jermar Jefferson and cornerback Amani Oruwariye.

Of these moves, the release of Jefferson may be the most surprising, especially with them not adding another running back in his place. Many outside the organization believed that Tennessee would bolster the running back position with a claim, but that never materialized.

With running back Tyjae Spears on injured reserve, the Titans have only Jordan Mims on the practice squad to supplement Tony Pollard, Julius Chestnut, and Kalel Mullings. If no other changes are made, Tennessee will enter the season thin at the running back position. Pollard and Chestnut are both healthy, but Mullings is still working through a lower leg injury that he suffered in the preseason finale against the Minnesota Vikings.Â
