Examining Atlanta’s top fantasy football options for the 2025 season
The Atlanta Falcons are one week away from their 2025 season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which means there’s not much time left to set up your fantasy football league. As fantasy players around the country prepare for their league drafts, we figured it would be a good time to take a look at the Falcons‘ top options for 2025.
Using ESPN’s latest fantasy projections, let’s check out where Bijan Robinson, Drake London and the rest of the crew are ranked going into the season.
Penix isn’t someone fans will need to target early in their fantasy leagues, but he has a ton of upside playing in what should be an explosive offense. Think of the second-year quarterback as a high-upside backup for your fantasy team. One thing to remember is that Penix’s blind-side protector, Kaleb McGary, has been ruled out for the season. Nonetheless, his ability to push the ball down the field makes him a potential sleeper.
Robinson isn’t just the No. 1 running back in ESPN’s rankings, he’s being selected first overall in many leagues. The dual-threat back finished third in the NFL with 1,456 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. Robinson also had 61 receptions for 431 yards and a receiving touchdown last season. The third-year back out of Texas could be in for another monster year.
Similar to Robinson, London is also coming off a breakout season. The former USC star finished top-five in receiving yards (1,271) and had a career-high nine touchdowns. With more consistent quarterback play, London could be in for an even bigger year in 2025. ESPN has London ranked 10th among wide receivers, but he has top-five upside and is someone you’re going to want to target.
Mooney is dealing with a shoulder injury that kept him out of practice for roughly a month, however, he finally made his return last week and is someone to keep an eye on. When healthy, Mooney is a very good secondary option to Drake London. Last season, Mooney finished with 64 catches for 992 yards and five touchdowns despite missing the season finale.
Pitts was ranked as the 18th tight end by ESPN. The former top-five pick has not been the same player that he was during his 1,000-yard rookie campaign, but he’s still just 24 years old and has been working to build chemistry with Penix over the offseason. Pitts finished with 47 catches 602 receiving yards and four touchdowns last year. He is a solid buy-low option with good upside.
Koo had an inconsistent season in 2024, but the former Pro Bowler has been fairly consistent throughout his career in Atlanta. If the Falcons offense takes off the way many believe it will, Koo could be a decent sleeper option for those who wait on drafting a kicker.
