The Miami Dolphins had running back De’Von Achane and right tackle Austin Jackson back on the practice field Monday as the team gears up for its Week 1 debut against the Indianapolis Colts.

According to head coach Mike McDaniel, only three players — running back Jaylen Wright, wide receiver Dee Eskridge, and cornerback Ethan Bonner — were unavailable Monday.

“I’m expecting him to not miss a beat based on his tremendous offseason and I would envision him being available for Week 1,” McDaniel said of Achane. “We’ve been very, very aggressive with treatment so that there’s no setbacks and that will the focus and, if he doesn’t have any setbacks, he’ll be playing.”

Achane has been sidelined for two weeks due to a minor calf problem. McDaniel told reporters in August that the team would be “super proactive” in treating the injury in the hope of keeping it from becoming “a long, strenuous, nagging issue.”

The return of Jackson is also huge for the Dolphins after Tua Tagovailoa’s blindside protector missed almost all of August with a leg injury.

“I’m fortunate enough to have a ton of experience with Austin Jackson and that was the variable that just got back on the field,” McDaniel said Monday. “I feel confident in what I’m going to see [from the offensive line] Week 1, which is a pretty good unit that stands to have a good year if they can stay together and continue to progression in their game.”
