SEATTLE — As many of you go for your fantasy football drafts this weekend, it makes it feel real: Football season is back!
So on this week’s KOMO Sports End Zone, we dive into the specific stars the Seahawks bring to the table and what your strategy might be surrounding those players.
Including my take: Zach Charbonnet could help you win a fantasy league this year.
It starts with the Seahawks new approach to offense this season. They want to run the ball and run it often. Kenneth Walker III is still the feature back of course but Charbonnet’s fantasy ability comes into play in several ways:
He has proven to have lead back abilities when filling in for Walker III and will see volume regardless of the injury report in the new look Klint Kubiak offense.Walker has battled through several injuries, opening the door for Charbonnet. You can draft Charbonnet in later rounds in most leagues, meaning he’s a low-risk, high-upside player for your fantasy team.
The proof is there, in “only” starting five games last year, Charbonnet still scored eight touchdowns.
A number that figures to go up in a new scheme and of course, if he’s pressed into more extended duty. Zach averaged four yards per carry throughout his first two seasons in the NFL and looks even better based on our inside access at training camp and in limited preseason action.
Of course there are other players on this Seahawks team that can help you along the way, and guys that bring different value depending on the type of league you play in.
We break it all down in the KOMO Sports End Zone!
