In addition to their nine draft picks, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed 22 undrafted rookies as well, following the 2025 NFL draft.

Just as we did with each of the nine selections, let’s take a closer look at each of the Jaguars‘ UDFAs. Up next is Wake Forest linebacker Branson Combs.

Branson Combs’ profileWhat to know about Jaguars‘ UDFA signing

Combs is a unique prospect, given his background. He would spend his first five seasons at the FCS level with Southern Illinois before transferring to Wake Forest this past season. However, before transitioning to linebacker, Combs played wide receiver for the Salukis. In 2020, he would catch 12 passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns.

At the linebacker position, you see Combs’ athleticism, ball skills, and ability to operate in space when in coverage. For his career, he allowed a completion rate of 66.4%, just 7.8 yards per catch, and had seven interceptions and 11 pass breakups over four seasons on defense. His coverage numbers did increase a bit when making the jump to Wake Forest.

Throughout his career on defense, Combs has proven to be a reliable tackler, he’s graded out well in the run game by PFF’s metrics, and he’s found some success as a blitzer. Combs has also played close to 500 special teams snaps during his college career as well.

In his one season at Wake Forest, Combs was named an All-ACC selection.

They said it

In an interview with NFL Draft Diamonds, Combs was asked what about his game stands out the most on film:

“I have a pretty good ability to play sideline to sideline and my ability to recognize things and play fast gives me an edge.”
