Another cut casualty of the Carolina Panthers has found himself some new digs.
As announced on Wednesday afternoon, inside linebacker Jon Rhattigan has signed to the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ practice squad. The fifth-year defender was released by the Panthers last Tuesday during the team’s cutdown to their initial 53-man roster.

Rhattigan, who played his college football at Army from 2017 to 2020, broke into the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Seattle Seahawks in 2021. He went on to appear in 36 games for Seattle through the 2023 campaign, totaling 32 tackles and a fumble recovery.
The Panthers signed Rhattigan ahead of the 2024 season. 369 of his 370 snaps came on special teams, as he notched 12 combined tackles over 16 outings.
He is now the third cut casualty from Carolina to sign with a new team—joining Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Shy Tuttle and Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Jack Henderson.
