We are less than 24 hours away from your Dallas Cowboys kicking off the new NFL season right here on NBC 5.
Fans have already been taking off for Philadelphia to see their ‘Boys take on the Eagles.
On Wednesday, Terminal C at DFW Airport looked almost like an NFL sideline: a flood of jerseys, hats, and T-shirts showed which travelers were heading to a primetime showdown.
“To see the Cowboys whoop up on Philly,” said Michael Jackson.
Thursday night on NBC 5, the Dallas Cowboys open the 2025 NFL season on the road against their NFC East rival, the Philadelphia Eagles.
Cowboys fans traveling to the game were definitely heading into enemy territory.
“She’s a little concerned,” Cowboys fan Matt Stone said of his wife as they prepared to fly out to Philadelphia. “She told me not to bring my white jersey just in case we get beer and stuff poured on us, so we’ll see how it goes.”
While we saw a whole lot of silver and blue preparing for takeoff, there were some DFW Eagles fans ready to defend last year’s title.
“I just really wanted to see them go raise a Super Bowl banner this year,” said Montreal Dukes. “And do it while they’re beating up on the Cowboys.”
Cowboys fans said supporters of America’s team will show out in Philly, but those who can’t get to the game will be watching from AT&T Stadium, which is opening its doors for a watch party.
“We can’t be in Philly, but we’re going to be here in Arlington,” said Miguel Castellanos, who attends games under the persona of Super Cowboy. “So we’re very excited and we’ll be out there representing for sure.”
For those Cowboys faithful making the trip, hopes, dreams, and North Texas pride are all on the line.
“We’re going to band together, we’re going to make some noise in their house,” said Edward Smith.
