The Minnesota Vikings have been dealing with some rather unique injuries during training camp to a litany of players. While some issues persisted from last season, others have emerged in the weeks leading up to training camp and the preseason.

One of those injuries is to safety Harrison Smith, who is not only a captain of the team, but one of it’s identities on defense.

Smith has been dealing with a reported “personal health issue” with no other details on the matter being provided. However, on Wednesday, Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell provided an update by saying he would participate in the team’s walk-through but not in their practice. While this is encouraging, this is not the best news heading into Week 1.

For now, the good news is the team and Smith will have an added day of healing up ahead of their matchup with the Bears in part to it taking place on Monday Night.
