The Los Angeles Rams will be playing an international game in an all-new location in 2026.

The NFC outfit will watch on as their neigboring Chargers kick off the 2025 NFL season in Brazil, where they will play the Kansas City Chiefs in a game that Jason Kelce will be barred from covering and rookie wide receiver Jaylen Royals is expected to miss due to injury.

The Rams will get on the plane for an international fixture in Week 7, with a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars scheduled for London.

They are also one of the designated teams set to play in the league’s very first regular-season game in Australia next September.

ESPN insider Adam Schefter noted as much while speaking on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ on Thursday, revealing that multiple teams will be playing in Melbourne during the season.

“The Rams are the designated team,” he said.

The team will play at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), with the game part of a multiyear commitment by the league to host regular-season fixtures in Melbourne.

The Rams were selected for this venture because of their strong international presence and strategic links to the Pacific region.

Rams owner and chairman Stanley E. Kroenke has previously spoken about the significance of Australia as a global market, while NFL commissioner Roger Goodell lauded Melbourne’s rich sports heritage and the resulting infrastructure.

Goodell claimed the league’s move to play games on the continent will be a significant step in expanding its international footprint.

“When we first identified Australia as one of our global markets, it was not only because of our passionate fans who reside there, but also because of the important role Los Angeles plays in serving as a gateway to Australia and many countries across the Pacific,” Kroenke said, per the Rams’ official website.

The Rams’ opponent and the date for the game are yet to be announced.

The MCG is known for hosting major international sporting events, and it will be transformed into a football ground, with local fans in for a unique sporting experience.

The NFL has a growing fanbase of over 6.6 million across Australia, but the upcoming Melbourne game could mark a watershed moment for both the country and the league.

Meanwhile, the Rams will have quarterback Matthew Stafford available for their Week 1 clash with the Houston Texans following a back injury, which had everyone worried about him.
