SANTA CLARA — It might be a new season, but the 49ers Faithful are up to their old tricks of traveling to all of San Francisco’s away games.

The loyal fanbase will be kicking off the 2025 season in the Pacific Northwest to see the 49ers’ season opener with the Seattle Seahawks. According to Vivid Seats’ proprietary algorithm, “Fan Forecast,” 53 percent of the crowd at Lumen Field will be wearing red and gold.

This is nothing new for the Faithful who i have taken away the home field advantage across the NFL, and even more so across the division. Rarely do the Los Angeles Rams fans outnumber the Faithful at their “home” venue of SoFi Stadium.

Faithful are traveling the furthest distance of 661 miles (on average) to attend the game with an average ticket price of $393. It is not an inexpensive venture with the lowest priced seat at $241 each.

Most traveled Week 1 matchups (Average distance)

1. San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks 9/7/25 – 661 miles

2. Las Vegas Raiders at New England Patriots 9/7/25 – 594 miles

3. Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles (TNF) 9/4/25 – 594 miles

4. Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers 9/7/25 – 563 miles

5. Arizona Cardinals at New Orleans Saints 9/7/25 – 520 miles

With so many Faithful traveling to Seattle for the game, we thought it might be helpful to offer a few suggestions of things to do while at one of the best road trip destinations of the season.

Pike Place Market: If you haven’t been to the iconic venue where the fisherman literally throw fish for a living, it is a must see at least once. Maybe one of the best finds at the semi-outdoor venue amongst the fresh flowers and vegetables is De Laurenti’s Italian Market where you can find numerous products made in Italy.

Biscuit B—h: The popular breakfast spot has two locations — one near Pike Place and one in Belltown. Everything on the menu is hearty and delicious, stopping there before the game will hold you over at least through halftime. Open daily 7:30 a.m. – 1p.m.

The Pink Door: Located on Post alley near Pike Place, the venerable establishment serves some of the best classic Italian food in the city. Open for both Lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday, go for the bolognese, stay for the seasonal dessert choice.

Le Panier: The best French bakery in the area. Order one of everything and thank me later.

If you’re a Starbucks loyalist, the original storefront is near Pike Place Market, but get there early if you want to avoid insane crowds. Seattle also boasts an enormous Starbucks Reserve Roastery location as well.

For the neighborhood coffee aficionados: Fulcrum cafe in Belltown is the spot, with a roastery and single origin beans. There are non-coffee beverages, wine, beer and breakfast items on the menu.

The Space Needle: If you’ve never been to Seattle, this will give you a 360º bird’s eye view of the city. The rotating restaurant closed and there is now a lounge in its place. The trip is worth the views alone.

If you have kids: The Woodland park Zoo is one of the best with several native species of animals. There is a large park nearby where you could being food from the market and have a picnic.

Saturday Night: If you’re wanting to get your sporting weekend started earlier than Saturday, the University of Washington is kicking off at 8pm PT in their second game of the season facing UC Davis. Husky Stadium is one of the premiere venues on the wets coast with an amazing view of Lake Washington.

Fine dining: Barolo is one of my favorites, excellent modern Italian fare, great wine list.

Asian Fusion: Wild Ginger is an asian fusion restaurant that is always a go-to place when in Seattle. Favorite dish is roast duck but everything is delicious.

High end sushi: If you’ve streamed Jiro Dreams of Sushi and can’t make it to Japan to try his restaurant, the next best things is to go to Sushi Kashiba, run and operated by his protégé. It’s difficult to get a reservation but they do have a bar where you can order food.

Microbreweries: Ballard boasts the best brewery slate in the area with over a dozen locations to try, but honestly if you love beer, there are endless places to go in the Seattle area.
