The Dallas Cowboys may have helped the Pittsburgh Steelers avoid disaster — as superstar edge rusher Micah Parsons was reportedly interested in a trade to a top contender in the AFC North.
According to a report from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Parsons was interested in a possible trade to the Baltimore Ravens — but the Cowboys’ desire to maximize their return prevented this from becoming a possibility.

“In our reporting, multiple team execs believed that Parsons was intrigued by several teams in the process, including the Ravens and Chiefs,” Fowler wrote. “This was moot — the Cowboys were focused on getting the best deal they could. And the Chiefs were never in it. But it’s noteworthy nonetheless.”
Back in February, Parsons claimed he would only return to Pennsylvania if it was for the Pittsburgh Steelers — but a trade to the Baltimore Ravens might’ve made him enemy No. 1 in the Steel City.
Luckily for Pittsburgh, the Green Bay Packers offered the Dallas Cowboys two first-round draft picks and three-time Pro Bowl DT Kenny Clark in a trade — resulting in Parsons’ extension to usurp T.J. Watt as the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL.
