Tennessee Titans coach Brian Callahan didn’t rule anyone out ahead of the team’s season opener against the Denver Broncos for the season opener, but listed rookie safety Kevin Winston Jr. (hamstring) as doubtful.
The Titans play at the Broncos on Sept. 7 (3:05 p.m., FOX).

Winston missed three weeks of the preseason with a hamstring injury as he continues to recover from knee surgery last fall as well. Speaking with reporters after practice, Winston said he isn’t sure if the hamstring injury is related to the ACL injury he sustained in his last college season, but he’s trusting the athletic training staff to get him back to health soon.
“Just had a nick there with my hammy,” Winston said. “Everything’s been going really well. I’ve just been taking it day-by-day and step-by-step and I’m feeling really good right now. It was frustrating, but I have to stay positive. I understood that this is what was going to come with the return of coming from an injury like this. Whenever (the trainers) say I’m ready to go, that’s when I’m ready to go.”
Cornerback L’Jarius Sneed and rookie running back Kalel Mullings are listed as questionable, according to Callahan. Sneed has been on the injury report throughout the week with a knee injury as he continues to recover from offseason surgery. Callahan said that even if Sneed isn’t able to play all 70 snaps in a game, that doesn’t mean he won’t be asked to contribute.
Sneed agreed.

“Going forward, the team’s taking care of me,” Sneed said about how he feels following the surgery. “We’re all trusting the process and taking it day-by-day. I’m going to take a pitch count and go do what I do.”
Titans depth chart: Who’s playing vs Broncos?
With Sneed on a pitch count, expect players like Darrell Baker Jr., Marcus Harris and recent add Jalyn Armour-Davis to get involved. Without Winston, the Titans will still be able to rely on three veterans at safety: Amani Hooker, Xavier Woods and Quandre Diggs.
Offensive tackle Dan Moore Jr., who appeared on the injury report after practice on Sept. 3 but returned to practice in full the next day, will also play without a designation.

One player who hasn’t appeared on the injury report all week is center Lloyd Cushenberry III. Cushenberry tore his Achilles’ tendon back in November and began training camp on PUP but returned to practice midway through the preseason and has rejoined the starting lineup. Veteran Corey Levin, who spent the offseason in Cushenberry’s spot, is not on the Titans’ active roster but can be elevated from the practice squad if needed.
Callahan announced that Cushenberry will be the Titans’ gameday captain against the Broncos, his former team, and said he’s been impressed with how much tenacity and passion Cushenberry has put into his recovery process.
