The Seattle Seahawks will be without a key defensive player and two wide receivers when they open the season Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

Outside linebacker Uchenna Nwosu has been ruled out on the Week 1 injury report released Friday while he continues to work his way back from offseason knee surgery.

The Seahawks also have Jake Bobo, who is aiming to return from a concussion, and fellow receiver Dareke Young, who has a hamstring injury, listed as out for the game.

Nwosu and Bobo were both limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday, while Young was limited Wednesday and did not practice Thursday.

Per John Boyle of Seahawks.com, head coach Mike Macdonald said Nwosu is “ahead of schedule” in rehabbing his knee but needs more time before he can play in a game. Macdonald also added that Young “tweaked” his hamstring in practice Wednesday, and that the hope is that both he and Bobo can play next week at Pittsburgh.

In good news for the Seahawks, starting right guard Anthony Bradford and starting cornerback Riq Woolen are both expected to play Sunday. Neither practiced Thursday, with Bradford dealing with a back injury and Woolen being listed with an illness.

Two other players were listed on the Seahawks injury report this week but are expected to be available Sunday: wide receivers Tory Horton and Cody White. Horton, a rookie who turned heads this offseason after the Seahawks picked him in the fifth round of the NFL Draft out of Colorado State, was listed as a full participant in practice with an ankle injury. White was limited in practice this week with a shoulder injury.

The 49ers had a considerably longer injury report this week that featured a whopping 17 players, including the addition of star running back Christian McCaffrey on Thursday. He was limited in that practice with a calf injury but was reportedly on the field for Friday’s practice.

None of the 17 players on San Francisco’s injury report missed Thursday’s practice.

The Seahawks will host the 49ers in a season-opening NFC West clash at 1:05 p.m. Sunday at Lumen Field. The radio broadcast on Seattle Sports will begin at 10 a.m. with the pregame show.
