The Las Vegas Raiders signed a familiar friend of the New England Patriots on Friday. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Raiders signed former Patriots wide receiver and Super Bowl LIII champion Phillip Dorsett to their practice squad.

Dorsett had a productive run with the Patriots in the three seasons that he played with the team. He proved to be a solid veteran depth option on the roster. He hauled in 73 receptions for 881 yards and eight touchdowns during his tenure in New England.

During the 2018 postseason, he hauled in two touchdown passes to help the Patriots win their sixth Super Bowl. He has bounced around the league playing with multiple teams since he last represented New England.

The Raiders are in need of additional wide receiver depth after five-time Pro Bowl wideout Amari Cooper unexpectedly announced his retirement from the NFL. If Dorsett checks out on the practice field, there’s a chance that he could be elevated to the game day roster on Sunday.
