Returning to Indianapolis to face the Colts in Week 1 will be former cornerback JuJu Brents, who is now a member of the Miami Dolphins.
Brents, a second-round pick by the Colts in 2023, was released during roster cutdowns. He was then claimed on waivers by the Dolphins and added to their 53-man roster.

Brents was recently asked about returning to Indianapolis, and he said it would be a “little emotional,” according to Joe Schad. When asked if he had a chip on his shoulder, Brents said it was a “boulder.”
Brents had unfortunately navigated injuries throughout this time with the Colts. In his first two seasons, Brents had appeared in only 11 games and missed most of this summer’s training camp due to injury.
This offseason, the Colts reshaped their cornerback room, which left not only Brents but several other players from the 2024 roster no longer on the team.
The only current cornerbacks who were on the team last season are Kenny Moore and Jaylon Jones.
The Dolphins’ cornerback room has undergone changes of its own this offseason. Along with adding Brents, the team also brought in Ashtyn Davis, Jack Jones, and Rasul Douglas.

Adam Stites, the managing editor of Dolphins Wire, called the cornerback position one of Miami’s biggest unknowns entering the season.
