Rockledge High’s own Raheim Sanders can add another line to his already impressive resume — “scored first NFL touchdown on Sept. 7, 2025.”

Sanders scored his first professional touchdown for the Cleveland Browns at 12:42 in the second quarter of their season-opener against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Sanders was an undrafted free agent who signed with the Los Angeles Chargers on April 26, 2025, after the 2025 NFL Draft.

He played the preseason with the Chargers, scoring a touchdown Aug. 10, against the New Orleans Saints.

The Chargers decided to release Sanders because of a crowded running back room, and the Browns quickly signed  him Aug. 27, 2025.

If you’re wondering, he is not related to teammate Shedeur Sanders or his famous father, Deion Sanders.

Raheim Sanders, 23, was a three-sport athlete at Rockledge High, playing football, basketball and track.

He then played his first three years of college football at Arkansas, with injuries hampering his junior season.

He transferred to South Carolina for his fourth and final year, where he had 881 yards rushing and a career-high 11 touchdowns, while also hauling in 27 receptions for 316 yards and two touchdowns.

He is listed at third on the depth chart behind starter Jerome Ford and backup Dylan Sampson.

All three saw action Sunday, with Sampson leading the way with 29 yards on 12 carries and Ford collecting 8 yards on 6 carries.
