Week 1 of the 2025 NFL regular season has finally arrived and after kicking things off with games on Thursday and Friday night, the first Sunday slate of the year should be interesting. Headlining the early afternoon games was Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers traveling to MetLife Stadium for a showdown with the New York Jets, facing former Steelers quarterback Justin Fields.

Both quarterbacks shone in the game, but it was the Steelers who managed a win on the back of a stunning four-touchdown passing performance from Rodgers, making him the third-oldest quarterback in NFL history to accomplish such a feat at the age of 41. That, paired with a career-long 60-yard field goal from Chris Boswell brought the Steelers to a 1-0 start.

That’s not to say that Fields didn’t make it a close one, though. The Jets got the ball back, down two points, with 1:08 to go in the fourth quarter, but they were unable to find any rhythm, going four-and-out with just seven yards of offense before turning the ball over on downs.

Fields went 16-of-22 passing for 218 yards and a passing touchdown — a 33-yard beauty to WR Garrett Wilson — adding another 48 yards and two scores on the ground.

Elsewhere, Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel made his case as the first coach to be fired in 2025 with an embarrassing 33-8 road loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Veteran quarterback Tua Tagovailoa & Co. struggled to find any rhythm, as Tagovailoa threw for just 114 yards, 1 TD and 2 INT, adding a lost fumble to the mix.

The Dolphins’ drives in Week 1 were as follows:

They’ll host the New England Patriots next week and hope to bounce back in an AFC East rivalry game.
