Bills’ 41-year-old kicker nails game-winner just days after signing originally appeared on The Sporting News
The Buffalo Bills signed kicker Matt Prater on Thursday and just days later he kicked the game-winning field goal in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Bills seemed to have an insurmountable deficit late in the fourth quarter when Buffalo was trailing 40-25.
But then the magic started happening and the Bills mounted a ridiculous comeback to pull to within a 40-38 deficit. Another stop on the following drive gave Buffalo an opportunity to get into field goal range to win the game.
That’s exactly what Josh Allen and Co. did, setting up the 41-year-old kicker who just signed to create an all-time moment for the Bills.
And Prater delivered.
Of course, Prater is no stranger to making big kicks. The 18-year veteran has done that plenty during his career that has also seen two Pro Bowl nods and one All-Pro selection.

Prater was signed in the wake of the injury to kicker Tyler Bass, who was placed on injured reserve prior to Week 1. Bass will miss at least the first four games of the season.
The Ravens have got to be completely dejected at this point.
Not even a late two-score lead was enough to put away a Bills team that has beaten the Ravens in three of the last four meetings, including two matchups in the postseason.
As for the Bills, there are few things that can give a team as much momentum as this kind of win can. Buffalo will be riding high going into a Week 2 matchup against the New York Jets.
